The social media space is buzzing with speculation following reports that Afrobeats star Asake may have parted ways with YBNL Nation, the record label founded by music mogul Olamide.

Rumors began circulating after fans noticed changes on Asake’s Instagram profile. The singer unfollowed Olamide, removed all references to YBNL from his bio, and deleted all his posts, further fueling the narrative.

Adding weight to the speculation, popular entertainment blogger Cutie Juls reported that Asake’s initial contract with YBNL had expired. According to the blogger, Olamide offered Asake a new deal, but the singer declined to renew his contract.

Insiders revealed that Olamide made several attempts to convince Asake to stay, but his efforts were unsuccessful. Ultimately, Asake reportedly walked away from negotiations, opting to pursue a career as an independent artist.

Cutie Juls wrote, “Asake has officially left YBNL and parted ways with Olamide. His initial contract ended, and although Olamide offered a renewal in good faith, Asake firmly declined to sign. Despite Olamide’s persistence, Asake chose a different path, walking out of the negotiation process just two weeks ago.”

The blogger also hinted at a potential reconciliation, stating, “Hopefully, both parties can resolve their differences, and Asake may decide to return to YBNL in the future.”

Asake joined YBNL in 2022 and quickly rose to prominence with hits like Sungba, achieving major milestones such as selling out London’s O2 Arena twice.

While fans are uncertain about the next steps in Asake’s career, they remain eager to see what the future holds for the artist and his upcoming projects.
