13 political parties to contest in Ondo LG polls

_Ondo State Local Government Elections: 13 Political Parties Cleared to Participate_

As the Ondo State local government elections draw near, scheduled to take place on January 18th, 2025, the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) has officially released the list of participating political parties. This development marks a significant milestone in the electoral process, paving the way for a competitive and inclusive election.

According to the Commissioner in charge of Communication, Media and Information Technology, Tunde Adeleye, 13 political parties successfully passed the screening exercise held at the ODIEC Headquarters on December 27th, 2024. These parties will contest for the chairmanship position in the 18 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and councillorship positions in the 203 wards of the state. The cleared political parties are:

1. Action Democratic Party (ADP)

2. Action People’s Party (APP)

3. All Progressive Congress (APC)

4. All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)

5. Boot Party (BP)

6. Labour Party (LP)

7. New Nigeria People Party (NNPP)

8. Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

9. Social Democratic Party (SDP)

10. Young Progressive Party (YPP)

11. Zenith Labour Party (ZLP)

12. Action Alliance (AA)

13. National Rescue Movement (NRM)

Campaigns by the participating political parties commenced on December 26th, 2024, and will conclude on January 16th, 2025, just two days before the election.
